So has anyone preordered the game? Only 3 weeks away. I was thinking of it since the game has a high potential of being sold out. The rest of the world will be getting the same uncensored version but Australia will get a downplayed version; a censored version sort of speaking. I don't know if you guys have heard of about this game called Mafia 2 but I really think it can knock off GTA IV. Both of the games have the same concept but Mafia was one heck of game!

DO WANT.
Would solve Boredom for a few weeks!
I haven't ordered it, as I have no way to play it (Damn then for not making it for PC's) But my brothers did preorder it, so perhaps I can leech off them.

I haven't pre-ordered it yet.
I usually buy at a place that have lots and lots of copies.
I will probably pick it up shortly after it comes out.

Optimization, various detail levels for all the different hardware, it's generally always more expensive and burdensome to develop on the PC.
And then we have mass piracy which is the prime playground for the average computer of today with torrents being 2 clicks away and people not much in danger at facing/realizing the consequences of their lowly behaviour.

I plan to get it soon as it comes out. I'll get addicted to it like I did with GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas. I'd play for like 12 hours at a time. Mowing down pedestrians, shooting cops and hoes, smashing cars up, getting paint jobs while listening to techno or dub. Can't wait!

I like the games, but I do tend to get bored. I'll wait for the PC version.

Well, can't really use that as an excuse, seeing how every GTA game ever made has been primarily for PC.
I have heard that the PC version is due in September... let's hope so It'd be stupid for them NOT to release it on PC, considering the large majority of the fanbase would be PC users.

They'd seriously bank off of the PC version, I think it's funner to play on PC.
Also yeah, every GTA has been for PC in the past, so I know it will come out.. Just wish it would be sooner.

They will make it for PC. No Rockstar has not announced that, but they will follow in their tradition. A stupid tradition of making PC gamers wait (was it 6 months or a year for the last 3?). But a tradition nonetheless.
FWIW, San Andreas sold more on PC than Xbox.
I for one can't wait for the PC version, I've been a big fan of the franchise since III.

Perhaps the PC release is delayed to ensure that the game is completely free of any unfinished questionable content that could be hacked into and exposed. XD

The same reason that they wont make Fable2 for PCs... Because they're stupid.
EDIT: As posted above it could also be because of the um... HOT COFFEE!!!! that was in San Andreas and got them into some trouble.

Well, I just turned 17 so I can finally get the game from the stores myself. Thats if They don't veto the ESRB rating and make it M18 like they did for Mass Effect...
Anyway, what I love about the series is the freedom, driving around, crash landing planes, caushing huge traffic jams and of course, blowing stuff up.

What I loved to do was car surfing.
They made it easier in San Andreas in that you can punch down on the car while standing on it. The point is to freak out the driver and see how long you can hang on.
I might be wrong, but I saw some pictures of GTA:IV that looks like there will be skitching in it, so I think that'll be my new hobby.

Lol I thought I was the only person who did car surfing, I used to get on top with guns and shoot people, was pretty fun.
First started doing it in GTA:3 I think.. can't remember, could have been Vice City.

I did not say that GTA IV isn't coming out for PC.
The delay is for a reason and it's not some overpriced "exclusive right" by Sony or MS.
It will be become a natural habit amongst game developers in the future (check Mafia 2). First you release it on the consoles because they sell much much better and that's where you get the cash flow you want. Afterwards you release it on the PC and worry less about sales.
From a financial standpoint they're doing the right thing.
